Cameroonian midfielder Gael Ondua, who also holds Russian citizenship, said German club Hannover no longer trusts his services for political reasons.

“They don’t trust me anymore with my contract until the end of the season. Despite the experience playing in the World Cup.

I think you understand why. Everyone saw what happened after the World Cup. With me – a football player who is listed in the club as a Russian citizen and believes that a person should always have his own truth and his own position. And now I’m paying the price for it,” Ondua wrote on her blog. spor.ru.

Ondua was born in Cameroon and came to Russia with his family at the age of nine, where he attended the capital’s CSKA and Lokomotiv youth schools. He played one match in the Cup of Russia for the army team. He is also known to play for Anji Makhachkala.

The 27-year-old midfielder has been playing for the German club since 2021. He has played two games for the club this season, most recently appearing on 6 August in a game against Paderborn (2:4).

formerly Ondua supported Russian Fedor Emelianenko before the fight with Ryan Bader.
