Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of the watch company, described Arsham as “one of the most interesting creative talents working in contemporary art”, thanks to his “portray of bold, daring, innovative work”.

“Most of my work is devoted to the study of our perception of time, its quantitative measurement, processing, determining our position in it,” said the American artist.

Arsham and Hublot’s first collaboration will carve a black 20-metre sundial at the exclusive ski resort of Zermatt in Switzerland.

In recent years, the artist has transformed luxury and consumer products from companies like Tiffany & Co, Rimowa or Xiaomi into unique works.

The New York-based artist joins Hublot’s list of celebrity ambassadors, which includes artist Takashi Murakami, blogger Chiara Ferragni, designer Samuel Ross, football player Kylian Mbappe, and Michelin-starred chefs Anne-Sophie Pick and Yannick Alleno.
