French football club Paris Saint-Germain has given up on signing Brazilian Zenit player Malcom. This was announced on social networks by Le Parisien correspondent Dominique Severak.
According to the source, St. Petersburg club does not want to loan his player and PSG will not be able to arrange a full-fledged transfer of Malcolm as they cannot afford financial fair-play.
Zenit head coach Sergei Semak has previously confirmed PSG’s interest in Malcolm, but said the Parisians have yet to make an official offer to the Russian club. He also noted that the blue-white-blue will never prevent the player from passing, as they never forcefully hold the players.
Malcom moved from Barcelona to Zenit in 2019. During his time in Russia, he managed to become three times Russian Premier League (RPL) champion, once winning the Cup and three times the country’s Super Cup. His contract with the blue-whites continues until the summer of 2027.
Former coach of Zenit Vlastimir Petrzhela gave an opinionMalcolm’s transfer to PSG will not affect the RPL medal fight.
