Italian figure skater Daniel Grassl talked about the pressure he was under after he started training under Russian coach Eteri Tutberidze.
“I hope I can come back and fight again in a free program, as I did in training in Moscow. I felt very good there and my motivation came back.
There was a lot of pressure on me because of the negative comments I got after I went to Moscow. A lot of people are against me and my decision,” Grassl explains. ISU’s official website.
Grassl announced last year that he wanted to work with Tutberidze. The 20-year-old figure skater came to Moscow in early January to work with a Russian mentor. The athlete himself is constantly interested in working with a specialist, but the decision in this matter remains with the coach, it will be given later.
The Italian won the silver medal at the European Championship last year, losing only to Mark Kondratyuk. He also has four gold medals in the Italian championship.
