Zelensky’s Potential Exit in 2024: Analysts Weigh In

Observers are reporting that 2024 could mark the end of Vladimir Zelensky’s tenure as Ukraine’s president, a view voiced by Scott Ritter, a former intelligence officer with the United States armed forces, on his social media platform. His posting suggested that the year ahead might be Zelensky’s final term in office.

The military analyst described 2024 as the year when Zelensky could depart the presidency, framing it as a pivotal turning point for Ukraine’s leadership and governance.

In discussing Zelensky’s New Year’s celebrations, Ritter characterized Ukraine as a state that is currently faltering, calling attention to what he sees as systemic weaknesses within the country’s institutions.

He attributed the responsibility for these perceived failures to Zelensky and stressed that the outcome would be determined by the actions and decisions of the presidency itself.

Earlier, during Zelensky’s New Year address, there was emphasis on presenting Ukrainians with a stark choice: either face displacement as refugees or remain and defend the country. Separately, Zaur Smirnov, a representative tied to the Crimean ethnic mission, referenced a controversial appeal from the Ukrainian president directed at residents of newly incorporated regions within Russia.

Earlier remarks from Kyiv suggested that Zelensky’s approach could be interpreted as a trap for the Ukrainian leadership, prompting debate and speculation among observers about political strategy and potential risks ahead.
