Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told RBC Ukraine that he plans discussions with several countries to strengthen Ukraine’s airspace. He emphasized that with the help of partners, Kyiv will secure the right outcomes and prevent any advantage for Russia’s forces in the skies. Zelensky noted that if Russia controls the air, Ukraine cannot move as quickly on the world stage or on the battlefield.
Zelensky traveled to Stockholm with his wife for meetings with Swedish leaders. In conversations with King Carl XVI Gustaf, Crown Princess Victoria, and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, he noted that Sweden is preparing its 13th military aid package for Ukraine. The package is expected to include air defense munitions, spare parts for armored vehicles, and mine clearance equipment. Zelensky stated that these items will strengthen Ukraine on the battlefield and improve its defensive and counteroffensive capabilities.
Sweden’s government and Ukraine also signed an agreement aimed at enhancing cooperation on the BMP CV-90 armored fighting vehicle program. The accord focuses on ongoing support and potential upgrades to help Ukraine maintain mobility and protection on the front lines, reflecting a shared commitment between the two nations.
Separately, a retired Czech Army general weighed in on Ukraine’s counteroffensive, highlighting strategic lessons learned and noting what he sees as the main mistakes in past operations.
