The new spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will not view the recent days as a success. He has made a misstep that could carry serious consequences.

Paweł Wroński, who left Gazeta Wyborcza after many years, holds the spokesperson role at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The former journalist operates within the office of Minister Radosław Sikorski.

As Witold Jurasz of Onet.pl disclosed, Wroński committed a significant error that exposed his actions as a spokesperson.

Wroński’s misstep

The journalist sent a sequence of questions about the so-called visa scandal. In response, the State Department spokesperson issued guidance for subordinates on how to answer the questions and provide the responses Jurasz awaited. The issue is that Wroński did not forward these instructions to his colleagues, but instead to an Onet journalist.

In an email to his team, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Onet’s questions carry risks of a legal and political nature. While the legal concern is understandable, labeling these questions as political threats at the outset of the guidelines raises serious questions.

– reveals Jurasz.

Wroński’s reply also includes a note about Witold Jurasz himself.

If the decision signed by Rau to dismiss Mr. Osajda was a termination without cause, that will be written about. If there is other information, the text would reference the GDPR and expect powers of attorney according to which Mr. Jurasz represents the interests of Mr. Osajda

– writes Wroński to his colleagues.
