Euphoria This is what was stated at the Vox campaign closing ceremony in Alicante this Friday. The province’s autonomous candidate, Ana Vega, urged voters to “reconquer all the lands of Spain,” expressing confidence that the party could secure the Generalitat’s vice presidency in the next legislative session. The mayor, Carmen Robledillo, shared optimism about the municipal elections, insisting that the council she represents has the strongest plan for the city.
Polls have suggested that the outcome of the Generalitat government could hinge on a slim margin this Sunday. Vox leaders have argued that their votes, combined with those of the PP, could push out Botànic. Since its inception, they have warned the public that any potential support would come with the expectation of a role in the regional executive.
Ana Vega: “We are not crutches or broomsticks. The era of supporting for nothing is over”
And this sentiment resurfaced again at the Alicante event this Friday, where Vega insisted that a return to power in Consell could be possible, if Carlos Flores joined as president rather than as vice president.
This stance is not new in the campaign, as messages from the party’s figurehead, Carlos Mazón, have signaled a preference for leadership without coalition concessions. He has even encouraged left-leaning parties to back Vox so that the party would not be excluded from the executive branch.
Just days before the elections, Vox reiterated the same position, echoing what occurred in Castilla y León by insisting on governing and seeking, if possible, the Vice Presidency.
Vega expressed the belief that the change they seek in the Valencian Community would extend to other regions governed by left-leaning administrations, with regional elections anticipated on the same Sunday.
Carlos Mazón launches a call for cross-party support to lead the country without Vox
Top of the Generalitat list for Alicante highlighted Vox’s growth since its inception, noting that the party began with ten members and has since expanded to include two councilors in Alicante and four more in the Valencian Parliament. The party presented figures it believes will continue to rise in the upcoming elections.
Mazón attributed this momentum to supporters and volunteers, praising them as the true heart of Vox for spreading the message and encouraging friends, neighbors, and family to participate in the political change.

Carmen Robledillo, Vox’s candidate for the Alicante City Council, spoke at the same event, expressing gratitude and confidence in the team. “The campaign has been challenging, but it has also been rewarding. We have the best team and the best project for our city.”
She added, “We will work for our voters and for those who did not vote for us, because we want to represent all of Alicante. Our goal is to make Alicante a city worthy of every resident.” Robledillo closed her remarks with a call for participation, and supporters concluded with chants of “mayor” and “Long live Spain.”
