The Valencian Government has set a fresh course for Ciudad de la Luz, inviting a renewed, more compelling identity as it restarts its journey. Once known as part of the Community Thematic Projects of the Valencian Community (SPTCV), the film complex is now undergoing a branding refresh through an ideas competition organized by its managing body. The objective is to craft a compelling cover letter that accompanies the rebirth of studios that have been inactive for a decade, all within the framework of Brussels restrictions.
SPTCV, a subsidiary of the Valencian Government via the Ministry of Innovation, has launched a collaborative effort to shape the corporate image of Ciudad de Luz. The project includes designing a brand identity, a logo, and a corporate identity guide. In addition, following a recent name change, a second ideas competition seeks to renew the organization’s own brand. The incentives total 12,000 euros for the best submissions.
Ciudad de Luz: several shooting ideas proposed, but a start date remains unclear
It is noted that SPTCV has completed the renaming process and will now be known as the Digital Transformation Projects Association (SPTD). The strategy extends beyond a mere rebranding; the new title broadens the institution’s mission and expands its focus. The Digital Zone aims to develop, promote, and execute the actions necessary to strengthen the Valencian Community’s digital economy, digitalization strategies, bridging the digital divide, and advancing research. In short, the new name reflects a portfolio of activities that are central to the Consell, led by President Ximo Puig. The Digital District technological center is a major pillar of this legislative period and a key investment in the state’s modernization efforts.
Valencian Government seeks a chief of operations for Ciudad de la Luz with a €300,000 two-year package
The name change of SPTD was approved by the Consell’s general assembly last June, and the formal registration has since been completed. The new designation signals the community’s clear commitment to digital transformation, aligned with President Puig’s vision. Initiatives like the Valencia Digital Zone are highlighted as flagship projects by SPTD. These two idea competitions are organized with a jury, awarding a contract for the development of these services through a negotiation procedure without public bidding. Each brand design, for Ciudad de la Luz and for SPTD, will receive a prize of 6,000 euros, totaling 12,000 euros in recognition of the best entries.
