Thousands of temporary workers within the Generalitat Valenciana face a significant shift as the Official Journal, DOGV, announced new opportunities for stabilization. The publication outlined elective test calls that aim to consolidate 1,274 positions. This move is part of Generalitat’s extraordinary stabilization effort designed to reduce temporary employment in the Administration to 8 percent.
The regional Ministry of Justice, which oversees local government powers, is pressing forward to meet European Union targets and align with the Iceta law, enacted just a year ago. After extensive discussions, authorities are moving swiftly when positions are available, aiming to maximize the number of opportunities before year-end.
In the latest cycle, 63 free shift calls were issued, with 19 for internal promotions and 4 for candidates with diverse intellectual backgrounds. The window runs from Monday, December 19, to Friday, December 23, aligning with the holiday period. The first group accounts for 557 vacancies, the second for 717, and the final group covers 39 posts.
Across all streams, 184 sites in subgroup A1 were called, 155 from A2, 364 from C1, 437 from C2, and 444 from APF (Governmental Professional Bodies). Interested applicants have 20 working days to register for the process starting the day after the publication of each call.
These calls form part of the extraordinary Public Employment Offer (OPE) aimed at reducing temporary hires within the Generalitat Valenciana Administration.
Temporary staff who have served in the Valencian Administration since before 2016 are eligible to participate. The overarching goal is to drive the temporary share down to 8 percent in line with Law 20/2021 on urgent measures to reduce temporary employment in the public sector. The decree 69/2022 established two stability channels: 2,514 posts through open competition and 574 posts through competitive examination.
