The Generalitat Valenciana centerpiece of civic backing in light of the regional elections scheduled for May 28 was unveiled during a gathering this Thursday at the Shoe Museum in Elda. Rosario Navalón, who ranks sixth on the PSPV-PSOE regional list for Alicante, attended the event and will lead the platform as coordinator for the Medio Vinalopó region.

During the meeting, attention centered on the investments announced by the council led by Ximo Puig, with emphasis on housing and health services. These plans include the expansion of the hospital and the establishment of a new health centre. A member of the platform, author and historical researcher Gerardo Muñoz, asserted that the administration has pursued transparency and social projects, contrasting them with the waste and corruption he attributes to earlier conservative administrations. The message conveyed was clear: the focus remains on improving daily life in Alicante and reinforcing Puig’s leadership of the autonomous government for the years ahead.

On the 18th, the regional platform is set to be presented in Valencia with Puig in attendance. Earlier, on the 12th, Puig planned to meet in person with the group backing the Alicante state platform to discuss priorities and strategy.

Past presentations of the platform have taken place in Alicante, Orihuela, Elche, Alcoy, Ondara, and La Vila Joiosa. The coalition emphasizes Puig’s eight-year tenure as head of the Generalitat and seeks broad support at the polls for the regional socialist candidate. Muñoz stressed, We want votes for Ximo Puig, not merely for PSPV, underscoring the desire to anchor leadership continuity and a coherent agenda across the region.
