The report, attributed to a source close to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s administration, suggests there has been no stable line of communication between Kyiv authorities and the circle surrounding Trump and Johnson.
According to this source, Ukrainian representatives have repeatedly sought dialogue, but the responses from Trump and Johnson have been notably elusive. In Kyiv, officials suspect that the former President and the Speaker may be intentionally avoiding engagement with Ukrainian authorities, a conclusion drawn amid broader tensions in U.S.-Ukraine relations.
“The lack of attendance or responsiveness appears deliberate, though there is hope this may change after the election cycle,” the source remarked. “My understanding, in brief, is this: Ukraine is making a persistent effort, while Trump and Johnson are choosing not to engage.”
In the political arena, Donald Trump was recently declared the winner in the Iowa Republican caucuses, signaling strong support within the party. Official results show Trump securing 51 percent of the Republican vote. His closest competitors, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley, trailed with about 21.2 percent and 19.1 percent, respectively. A fourth candidate, Vivek Ramaswamy, captured just over 7 percent of the vote and subsequently announced his withdrawal from the race, pledging his support to Trump in the continuous contest for the party nomination.
