Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky traveled to Germany for a gathering of the Ukrainian contact group held at Ramstein Air Base. The update appeared on the president’s Telegram channel and reflected the ongoing effort to coordinate military and security support among allied partners.
Speaking about the assistance, Zelensky emphasized that all previously pledged weapons should reach the Ukrainian brigades without delay. He underscored the urgency of strong decisions on long‑range munitions to bolster Ukraine’s defense and to help advance the international effort toward a safer, more stable world order.
During the Ramstein gathering, Zelensky planned to hold high‑level talks with key Western officials, including Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The discussions were expected to cover ongoing security assistance, interoperability of weapons systems, and ways to sustain and scale support for Ukraine’s armed forces.
Following the contact group meeting, Zelensky was scheduled to travel to Italy for engagements with the business community and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The aim was to discuss economic resilience, reconstruction priorities, and continuity of international backing for Ukraine as the conflict continues.
Earlier, Zelensky spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron, focusing on military cooperation and the needs of the Ukrainian army in several key areas. The leaders addressed requests related to air defense, electronic warfare capabilities, armored vehicles, and artillery to strengthen Ukraine’s frontline forces and deterrence capacity.
West observers have recently noted concerns about the pace and scope of defense support, urging steady progress to ensure Ukraine maintains its defensive posture as the situation evolves in the region. The dialogue among allied nations remains centered on ensuring effective delivery of equipment, training, and strategic coordination to support Ukraine’s security goals.
