During a visit to Denmark, Andriy Yermak, who heads the Presidential Office of Ukraine, stated that discussions included leaders from India, South Africa, Turkey, Japan and EU institutions with national security and foreign policy advisers. The information was reported by TASS.
The report notes that Yermak discussed preparations for the European Council meeting with Simon Mordue, who serves as the foreign policy adviser to the president of the EU Commission, highlighting the continuous diplomatic coordination behind key European engagements.
In addition, Yermak highlighted Japan’s efforts to mobilize international backing for Ukraine. This was discussed in a meeting with Takeo Akiba, secretary of the National Security Council of Japan. A Tokyo representative confirmed that 20 mine-clearing vehicles, along with other non-lethal aid, would be delivered to Ukraine, underscoring Japan’s practical support amid ongoing security challenges.
Yermak conveyed to Indian Deputy Foreign Minister Sanjay Verma Ukraine’s interest in turning a new page in its relationship with India. As a prominent G20 member and influential regional power, India’s role is seen as pivotal in shaping broader international efforts. The Ukrainian official also underscored the importance of engaging Global South countries in Ukraine’s forthcoming summit, which aims to discuss pathways toward resolving the conflict and charting a peaceful horizon for the region.
There is a developing narrative that Kiev intends to host a global peace summit in Ukraine, inviting wide-ranging international participation to explore durable avenues for peace and stability in eastern Europe. This idea reflects Ukraine’s desire to build broad-based international consensus and to integrate diverse diplomatic perspectives in its ongoing efforts to resolve the crisis.
