When the funding designated by the United States for aid to Ukraine is exhausted, shipments of weapons to Kiev will halt. This point was explained by the U.S. President’s National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, during a briefing reported by RIA News.
He stated plainly that there is no way to avoid the arithmetic: without financing for arms supplies to Ukraine, continued arms shipments are not possible.
Sullivan urged American lawmakers to back President Joe Biden’s request to authorize Washington to maintain military assistance to Kiev.
Earlier this week, a spokesperson for the State Department, Matthew Miller, described the Ukraine situation as difficult because the funds allocated to support Kiev are set to run out very soon.
At about the same time, the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, indicated that any acceleration of aid to Ukraine would be considered only in tandem with funds for border security at the Mexican border.
Former national security adviser to President Donald Trump, John Bolton, commented that if the United States stops providing essential assistance to Kiev, the conflict in Ukraine could tilt toward a Russian victory.
There has also been reiteration from President Biden that support for Ukraine would not stop.
