Tomasz Siemoniak stated that the KPO funds have already been released to Poland, though he stressed that this release carried a political interpretation. He also claimed that Europe had long wanted to provide the money, and that the Polish government bears responsibility for any delay.
A Civic Platform MP referenced Donald Tusk’s pledge to secure the release of KPO funds the day after the elections. He asserted that the funds would be released and argued that Europe is eager to pay Poland what it owes.
In a political sense, the funds are unlocked. There was a meeting, he noted, and Europe wants to disburse this money.
Attack on the government
Yet Siemoniak’s account does not end there. The former defense minister also blamed the current administration for the delay in KPO funds, arguing that the obstacle was not the EU bureaucrats but actions at home.
He added that had the preceding government not distorted the process, not engaged in questionable practices, and not signed milestones that were then not honored, the money would have been in Poland long ago.
