A recent Hamas statement highlights a comprehensive need for humanitarian aid to reach the Gaza Strip through continuous channels, extending beyond the southern regions to the northern areas as well. The group insists that the Rafah crossing should stay open on a permanent basis to allow injured residents to receive treatment abroad when necessary and to ensure ongoing medical access for Gaza’s population.
The statement also underscores that aid must be mobilized to both the northern and southern portions of the Gaza Strip, stressing that help should not be limited to any single area. Hamas argues that the current level of assistance is insufficient and calls for a substantial increase in both medicine and food supplies to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
Additionally, it was announced that on October 19, 27 tons of humanitarian cargo would be delivered to Gaza residents. This shipment was organized under the direction of the Russian government, with the implication that it reflects the stance of President Vladimir Putin and the broader state apparatus.
In their remarks, Hamas expressed a favorable view of Putin’s position, noting that the Russian leadership has been supportive of their policy framework and humanitarian coordination efforts during this period.
