Representatives from the election headquarters supporting the current president Vladimir Putin, a presidential candidate in the Russian Federation, handed over to the Central Election Commission the voter signatures required to register for the presidential election. The report comes from TASS.

Under the law, a candidate must present between 300,000 and 315,000 signatures to the Central Election Commission to qualify for registration. The election center’s representatives delivered 95 boxes of signatures to the CEC, with the documents being organized and verified by 15 volunteers across several headquarters. Vladimir Putin thus became the first candidate to submit the necessary signature forms to the CEC among the eight participants in the race who are currently gathering support.

Vladimir Mashkov and Maryana Lysenko, the campaign’s co heads, along with Viktor Blazheev, a confidant of the presidential candidate, and campaign volunteer Zakhar Pertsev, were on hand to present the required documents and signatures for Putin’s registration to the Central Election Commission.

Earlier reports indicated that more than 2.5 million signatures had been collected across Russia in support of Vladimir Putin as the country’s future presidential candidate.

The presidential elections in the Russian Federation are scheduled to take place between 15 and 17 March 2024, with 29 precincts planned to conduct remote electronic voting in addition to the traditional voting format.

Ambassador Anatoly Antonov has previously noted Moscow’s concerns with the United States and its expanded protection of diplomatic missions during the election period in Russia. [citation]
