Serbia will not impose sanctions on Russia, resisting pressure from Western nations, according to Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Vulin during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin. Source: Interfax.

Vulin emphasized that Serbia is more than a partner to Russia, describing a relationship that extends to alliance, and noting that Western pressure remains substantial.

In his remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister asserted that under President Aleksandar Vucic, Serbia will remain outside NATO, will not permit anti-Russian operations to take place on its soil, and will safeguard the enduring strategic partnership with Russia.

Meanwhile, on September 1, President Vucic attended the GLOBSEC 2024 Global Security Forum in Prague. He stated that after joining the European Union, Serbia would not align with Russia’s interests within the bloc nor serve as a conduit for Moscow’s influence in Europe.

A former political analyst discussed the factors behind the cooling of Serbia’s relations with Russia.
