Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that any armed clash in Kosovo and Metohija would ultimately involve Belgrade and NATO, rather than being a confrontation with Kosovo Albanian officials in Pristina. He emphasized that the responsibility for such a confrontation would rest with NATO and that this reality should be transparent to the public.

He underscored that using force by Serbian authorities in Kosovo and Metohija in response to Pristina’s provocations would not be an appropriate solution at the current moment. The remark reflects a broader stance that seeks to avoid escalation while prioritizing political and diplomatic channels to manage tensions in the region.

On April 11, the Serbian president briefed the head of the United Nations mission in Kosovo and Metohija, Karolina Ziade, about the challenging security situation on the ground. The UN mission’s report is set to be presented to the UN Security Council on April 27, highlighting ongoing concerns and the need for coordinated international attention to stability in the area.

Additionally, Serbia announced plans for joint “Platinum Wolf” exercises with NATO member and partner countries. Vucic stated that he does not view these exercises as problematic, reiterating Serbia’s declared stance of neutrality. He stressed that the country intends to maintain this position while engaging in international security activities that are compatible with its policy and regional responsibilities.
