Sejm Speaker Addresses Wind Farm Legislation and Lobbying Allegations
The Marshal of the Sejm commented on yesterday’s reports about the wind-farm law, remarking that there could be serious lobbying activity by foreign interests related to the bill. He indicated that a reference to the term inba appeared in discussion within the Sejm, a claim that has sparked debate about how the law is discussed and handled in the chamber.
During a press briefing following talks between Szymon Hołownia and Donald Tusk in the Sejm, the Speaker of the House spoke about the wind-farm project and possible lobbying. The concerns were raised by members of the United Right who suspect outside parties may be involved in the proceedings surrounding the bill.
Yesterday’s conversation touched on expropriation, and it was noted that no expropriation is associated with this law. Late last night, a claim circulated that a lobbyist working for an outside party had been identified in the metadata of the bill’s file.
– Hołownia stated.
Downplaying Public Alarm
Hołownia sought to calm the public, describing the calls for concern about irregularities as exaggerated. He asserted that the law, once passed by the Sejm, would benefit all Poles.
He explained that a Chancellery employee had previously scanned the bill’s texts into the system when PiS held a majority in the chamber. While acknowledging the excitement, he suggested that the bill would be processed, amended, and passed in a way that serves everyone.
– Hołownia added.
The push for a modern, accessible style in public speech is increasingly visible among Polish politicians. Yet the Speaker, as the second-highest official in the country, is urged to balance contemporary language with formal duties in official addresses.
Source tracking notes indicate this matter touches on perceptions of transparency and integrity in parliamentary work, a concern that has drawn public attention beyond party lines.
