In the second monitoring session, the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, will face a session in Parliament on Thursday that is expected to carry a clear electoral tone. The questions from the right-wing opposition will give Puig a chance to assess the current situation and appraise the administration prior to the polls planned for May 28 in the Valencian Community. The session is also likely to touch on topics such as political agreements, funding, and the state of urban development across the region.
Opposition
María José Catalá, a PP representative within opposition groups, will ask Puig for his view on the political landscape, the present economic and social conditions, and what Valencians deserve in terms of leadership and policy. Mamen Peris, newly elected trustee of Ciudadanos who recently met Puig at the Palau, will press him on which issues deserve priority in order to pursue a potential autonomous agreement. Finally, Vox spokesperson Ana Vega will seek clarification on whether the Consell is effectively managing the resources entrusted to all Valencians.
Puig will address Consell administration, corruption and renewable energy sources at next audit session
Turning to governance matters, the plan for the upcoming audit session includes scrutiny of the administration’s performance, the handling of corruption concerns, and the role of renewable energy sources in the regional strategy. On matters related to the environment and public sector reform, Papi Robles, a Compromís trustee, will evaluate the President’s assessment, noting what has not been incorporated into the annual regulatory plan and how autonomous financing reforms are progressing. Additionally, Pilar Lima from Unides Podem will question Puig about health, well-being, and the broader approach to urban development.
