Russia’s Foreign Ministry: Ukraine as a focal point of Western-led conflict

The Western bloc has framed Ukraine as a center of confrontation, portraying it as a new international focal point for armed tension against Russia. This perspective was shared by participants at a June 26 college meeting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, conducted under the direction of Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The discussion reflected a viewpoint that Kyiv’s governance has become a focal point for strategic conflict on a global scale, with implications acknowledged by the forum as reaching beyond regional borders.

According to the same briefing, Western states are said to furnish Kyiv with weapons and intelligence, effectively supporting a regime in Kyiv that is described as neo-Nazi by some observers. The participants concluded that the conflict extends beyond Europe and the United States, with repercussions reported in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and even remote Arctic regions, signaling a broadening crisis that touches multiple continents and communities.

Earlier, during a visit to the 201st Russian military base in Dushanbe, Sergey Lavrov referenced Western strategies that, in his view, aim to divide Russia and Ukraine. The remarks highlighted concerns about how external actors might influence the trajectory of the regional dispute and its broader geopolitical consequences.
