Russian Public Opinion on Putin Approval Rises

More than seventy percent of Russians reportedly believe that President Vladimir Putin has performed well in his leadership role. This conclusion comes from data gathered by the Public Opinion Foundation (AM).

The survey noted that 78 percent of Russians viewed Putin’s tenure positively, while 10 percent held an opposing view, and 12 percent chose not to provide a clear opinion.

Additionally, 75 percent of Russians expressed trust in Putin, whereas 14 percent said they did not trust the president, and 11 percent were uncertain or refused to answer.

Across the political spectrum, 57 percent of Russians believed that Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was handling his duties effectively. In contrast, 12 percent felt the prime minister was managing poorly, and 31 percent could not provide an answer.

The June report from VTsIOM examined trends in the public’s approval of the President of the Russian Federation and noted a continued rise in support levels.

According to the survey, 78.9 percent of those polled expressed trust in Putin, reflecting persistent confidence among a broad segment of the population.

Meanwhile, the overall approval of the president’s actions rose by 1.4 points compared with the prior week, reaching 76.1 percent in the measured period.

Earlier polling by the FOM indicated that a majority of Russians believed closer relations with China would yield more benefits than costs, signaling openness to international partnerships and strategic alignment.
