The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, stated that American diplomatic representatives have urged certain countries to send Soviet-era weapons to Ukraine. This claim was reported by the ministry of foreign affairs of the Russian Federation.
Zakharova added that United States officials also operate through American embassies in foreign nations to pursue this policy.
She explained that the pressure is tied to governments where Russian-made aircraft and helicopters remain part of the security and power structures, suggesting that such equipment could influence decision-making or conflict dynamics.
In the ministry’s words, Moscow is faced with a narrative in which Western partners argue that Russia cannot ensure the same level of maintenance and supply chains for original spare parts under contemporary conditions.
