A senior Russian diplomat stated that Moscow is prepared to enter talks with Kyiv without any preconditions. The remark was reported by a telegraph channel associated with the Zvezda edition.
According to the deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, any meeting between Moscow and Kyiv would have to be based on what is currently established, not on new or unrelated demands.
It was noted that, in line with long standing diplomatic practice, hostilities tend to move toward negotiations, and officials from Moscow have already signaled readiness to engage in talks if the conditions allow for constructive dialogue.
The official also emphasized that discussions would focus only on topics and objectives already publicly outlined by Russia, signaling a constrained agenda that centers on pre-announced aims.
The deputy head of the ministry did not provide additional information about prospective negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv.
Earlier, former Russian Ambassador to Austria suggested that Vienna should not be viewed as a platform for any Moscow Kyiv negotiations, arguing for alternative channels or locations.
Additionally, a ministry statement clarified that Moscow and Kyiv have not participated in direct talks regarding the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, underscoring the absence of negotiations on this issue at the current time.
