The mayor of the capital and candidate for the next term, Rafał Trzaskowski, spoke at today’s press briefing about the planned farmers’ protest, stressing that bringing protesters into central Warsaw could pose risks. He warned that such a move might lead to damage to city property and escalate tensions in the urban core.
President Rafał Trzaskowski outlined at the briefing that Warsaw would be a focal point for the farmers’ demonstrations in the coming days, confirming that the capital would host the gathering.
The court’s assessment reinforced concerns that tractors entering the city center could endanger people and property.
– Trzaskowski noted. The central question in the protests revolves around whether tractors can access the city, a point he described as the most contentious element of the forthcoming actions.
Regarding other controversial topics, the dispersal of the protests is pivotal. The aim is to minimize disruption for residents while allowing demonstrations to proceed with the least possible burden on city life.
– he stated.
Safety responsibilities lie with law enforcement, but the administration intends to do everything possible to reduce any difficulties for residents should the demonstrations proceed. The court’s findings underscored the possibility that tractor intrusion into the city center could be dangerous and could result in damage to municipal property.
– added the mayor of the capital.

Trzaskowski indicated that if he wins the election, Ada Porowska would serve as the city’s vice president. This aligns with the statement from Szymon Hołownia, leader of the Third Way, who announced Porowska as vice president during Saturday’s convention.
Trzaskowski was asked about Hołownia’s remarks that Third Way sees Adriana Porowska potentially taking the role of vice president under Trzaskowski’s administration (KO).
He replied that a joint confirmation with PSL and Third Way leaders would allow more details to be shared about the arrangement. The mayor emphasized that a decision on specific portfolios would be made later, pending electoral success.

He stressed that he would not disclose which vice president would oversee particular areas before the final agreement.
– he noted. He added that Porowska would indeed hold the vice presidency if the team wins, and only then would the division of responsibilities be discussed.
– he pointed out.
He reminded audiences that a maximum of four vice presidents could serve in the administration.
Future cooperation would be discussed in the forthcoming week, with details reserved until victory is secured, he asserted.
There is a municipal election scheduled for Sunday, April 7, with a possible second round for mayors and city presidents on April 21.
The city’s property concerns were raised about past demonstrations labeled black protests, during which some monuments were damaged. Critics argue the city’s safety and property maintenance should have been handled more carefully at that time.
