In a regional government plenary session held this week, Agustina Esteve, a former councilor from Torrevieja with the Partido Popular, was named the Consell’s new delegate in the province of Alicante. The meeting also confirmed a series of appointments across different ministries and public bodies. Jose Antonio Perez, a Professor of Legal History at Miguel Hernández University in Elche, was designated as Director General of Universities. Jorge White, a senior technician in the Waste sector at the Diputación de Alicante, will lead the General Directorate of Quality and Environmental Education.
Other appointments include Ruben Ibanez, a member of the PP in Les Corts, named as the director of the Port Authority of Castelló. Marisa Mezkida, formerly a Popular MP, was appointed as general manager of Labora Planning and Services. Enrique Montes will assume the role of director of the Institut Valencià de Finances, returning to the post after previously serving from 2012 to 2014. Pedro Carceller Icardo will take charge as Director General of Inclusion and Development Cooperation. Amparo Haro Cortes was named managing director of Budgets, a position she has held during both the PP and Botànic administrations.
Susan Fabregat will assume the role of Consell delegate in Castellón, while Jose Luis Diez Climent becomes director of strategic projects. Andres Lluch will head the department of Business, Cooperatives and Occupational Safety, and Elijah Love will oversee Employment and Labor Training. Sabina Goretti Galindo Benito is appointed as General Manager of Water, and Manuel Rosalen Caparros will lead the Industrial sector at the regional level.
These changes reflect a broader realignment across regional administration, with appointments spanning education, finance, infrastructure, and social programs. The new delegates and directors are positioned to drive policy delivery in the Valencian Community, aligning regional governance with current strategic priorities and funding opportunities. Analysts note that the reshuffle emphasizes continuity in key economic and social sectors while introducing fresh leadership to accelerate project execution across municipalities and provinces.
