Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated that a gathering with the families of those who lost their lives during the special military operation should serve as a clear prompt to officials at every level to ensure ongoing support for military families. The Kremlin press service reported this stance.
Putin described the meeting as a strong, easy to understand signal to colleagues across the entire Russian Federation and at all levels of government.
The president is set to host, on Christmas Eve, a discussion at the Novo-Ogarevo residence near Moscow with the relatives of service members who died in the course of the operation.
In December, during a press conference outlining the results of the year 2023, Putin suggested broadening the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation’s oversight of allocated funds, including resources intended for the rehabilitation of soldiers who participated in the special military operation.
Prior to that, Putin asserted that all authorities should treat the families of those who served in the operation as their own and respond to their needs from the heart whenever called upon.
Putin has previously stated what Russia is fighting for in the Northern Military District, underscoring a commitment to regional objectives and the welfare of service members and their families.
