The press secretary to the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, stated that Vladimir Putin is aware of the core aspects of the bill establishing a unified register of individuals responsible for military service.

Peskov noted that once the document is signed, the president will review it, adding that Putin is familiar with the bill’s substance.

When asked whether Putin had publicly commented on the bill’s essence, the Kremlin spokesman replied that he was not aware of any such remarks.

On April 11, the State Duma approved, in both the second and third readings, amendments to the military register and the creation of a single electronic register for draft notices. The approval came despite some lawmakers’ reservations, with critics arguing there was insufficient time to study the substantial 60-page changes. The following day, April 12, the Federation Council planned to discuss a bill related to the unified military personnel register and the introduction of electronic subpoenas.
