Progress is framed as a move away from Galicia Carlos Fernandez Bielsa within the leadership contest for PSPV. The Valencian state secretary indicated plans to appoint a team of representatives from three provinces to draft a renewal program for PSPV, according to people close to his circle.

The initiative arrives without a formal candidacy for Secretary-General of PSPV, yet it marks a bold step at the outset of a pivotal weekend. The Valencian socialist leadership will travel to A Coruña for the PSOE congress and will oversee the federal committee presided by Pedro Sánchez.

Bielsa announced the provinces that would contribute to the effort, stating that the group would work on a political program open to active participation by all militants to renew, modernize, and promote PSPV.

The working team will be composed of eight members from Valencia, two from Alicante, two from Castellón, and one representative from Juventudes. The objective, as described by sources, is to build a renewal program aimed at laying the foundations for a new party model that strengthens the organization in order to win again in 2027.

Specifically, the plan calls for a platform that enables broad collaboration and participation from all militants, ensuring the program remains open and participatory.

The announced team includes Bartolome Nofuentes, Elisa Valía, and Salvador Broseta for Valencia; Pep Lluís Grau and Sabina Escrig for Castellón; Naiara Fernández Olarra and Juan Guillermo Algado for Alicante; and Laura Barrios from the youth sector.

Salvador Broseta has served as the general secretary of the city of Valencia and has held multiple roles in the Botànic administration alongside Puig. The most recent position cited is undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice, Internal Affairs and Public Administration.

Elisa Valía is an architect associated with the local development circle known as abalis, and she has experience as a councilor in the Valencia City Council.

Bielsa set forth Nofuentes as deputy mayor of Quart de Poblet, noting his leadership of the Socialism 2.0 movement.

Pep Lluís Grau previously served as a senator and was the general secretary of the Castelló local group until 2012. According to Bielsa’s sources, he has played a prominent role in Sánchez’s ongoing militant platforms.

Sabina Escrig holds the post of deputy mayor in Vila-real and has been a councilor since 2003. She has chaired the regional campaign and served as a member of Les Corts from 2015 to 2023, including a term as deputy speaker.

Naiara Fernández Olarra has represented Mutxamel as a council member for eight years, while Juan Guillermo Algado acts as the spokesperson for the Municipal Socialist Group in Finestrat.

Laura Barrios Oliver occupies the position of secretary of feminism within the Joves Socialistes leadership. She also leads fmj, the Federation of Young Women of Spain, and serves as secretary for LGTBI affairs in the Ribera Alta regional government, with responsibilities in Carcaixent related to equality issues.
