In Valencia, the spokesman for the PSPV in the Cortes, José Muñoz, criticized what he called the party’s outsourced “DNA of corruption” as the People’s Party (PP) continues its courtroom tour. He argued that the legal proceedings against PP figures seem endless and pointed to this week’s appearance in court as the political godfather of Mazón, referring to former regional president Eduardo Zaplana.

In a party statement, Muñoz accuses today’s PP leaders of having grown up amid corruption. He notes that the string of indictments and trials against PP members is far from finished, with more judicial decisions anticipated this year that involve figures such as Francisco Camps and José Luis Olive and their associates, who face ongoing legal scrutiny. He frames the ongoing proceedings as part of a broader pattern of alleged misconduct by the party in the region.

Muñoz describes the cycle of alleged improper conduct by the regional PP as continuing well after two decades marked by accusations of looting and corruption. He calls it a shame that those who should be protecting public interests in institutions are now in the dock, accused of abusing their power to commit dishonest acts and to benefit themselves and their closest allies.

The PSPV’s charge follows the recent emergence of the so-called “case Koldo,” which has implicated a Valencia-based socialist official.

Muñoz adds that the supposed change referenced by Mazón is, in reality, a descent into the region’s darkest history.
