Prime Minister: They allowed Poland to be robbed

The Katowice convention organizing a strong message under the banner Safe Poland became a platform for Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki to highlight what he described as a history of misrule. He argued that under the PO-PSL government, Poland’s budget resembled Swiss cheese with holes large enough to expose the country to risk. Morawiecki asserted that a properly energized framework could have funded major national projects: high-quality highways, modern schools, and cutting-edge hospitals. He claimed that the media and business leaders had warned him that Poland was being plundered, a charge he linked to the absence of decisive action by the previous administration.

In his address, Morawiecki criticized the prior coalition by saying the era was marked by inaction and complacency, letting criminal networks and VAT fraudsters operate with impunity. He warned that those same groups would seek to regain power and repeat the harms if given another chance. According to him, any future policy would threaten social protections, jeopardize programs such as 500 plus and the upcoming 800 plus benefits, and stall major local development initiatives. He framed these as elements of Donald Tusk’s agenda, implying a clear risk to Polish families.

Morawiecki emphasized that the stakes extend beyond budgets and programs; they touch the daily lives of citizens who rely on social safety nets and essential public services. The prime minister argued that the country needed a new vision to secure autonomy in national policy and to prevent the erosion of hard-won social gains.
