Prime Minister Morawiecki took a moment to test Szymon Hołownia’s readiness, reminding him that three key bills are waiting in the parliamentary freezer. He pointed out to the new Sejm speaker that the power to bring tangible benefits to Polish families now rests with him. The PM used a public post to highlight the current high polarization within the Polish Sejm and to urge constructive leadership at this pivotal moment.
The marshal, Szymon Hołownia, has a chance to show millions of Poles that he can lead with substance, not just as a media figure. The electorate chose a Sejm capable of dialogue and decisive action. Today, Parliament appears more polarized than at any time in nearly eight years. Does that spell doom for progress or merely reflect a temporary clash of visions? The Prime Minister believes the answer is no. Polish citizens deserve a parliament that engages in meaningful discussion, whose members from the marshal to every new deputy are devoted to addressing real concerns and delivering solutions. The message is clear: the political stage has changed since the last election, yet the priorities of families remain constant. Within the Sejm, a body of 460 members, the duty is to work hard to dispel fears and solve problems for households across the country.

Ready-made laws
The head of government also urged the Sejm speaker to bring three prepared bills out of the parliamentary freezer. These measures promise to ease daily life for many Poles. Today offers a timely opportunity to act. The three ready-made laws include a zero VAT rate on food, protections for credit holidays, and measures to freeze electricity prices. They are already in the Sejm, introduced by the Law and Justice club. The question is why delay when the outcome could directly benefit households. The PM translates a concern often voiced by the public: the opposition controls whether these laws are debated or left aside in the freezer. This is the same freezer the opposition had promised to liquidate. If actions to freeze electricity prices and remove VAT on food are not passed this year, someone will bear responsibility for price increases in 2024. The credit holiday proposal also requires a legal framework. The law is clear. The speaker holds the key: the decision rests with him, but the interests of Polish families must guide the vote. Shall they be passed? The Prime Minister states a firm position in favor of YES and urges a vote that supports household welfare, without pressure on Poland.
