A government meeting is scheduled for Friday to discuss agricultural bills, according to a PiS spokesman who spoke on Radio Plus.
New measures and regulatory steps planned
The day’s discussions focus on matters tied to a recent party convention and its agricultural agenda. The spokesman said that additional steps and rules would be adopted in the coming days.
He noted that Agriculture Minister Robert Telus prepared a package of proposals to implement the pledges announced at Saturday’s PiS agricultural convention.
Among the key points are subsidies for wheat priced per hectare to align with EU expectations. In practical terms, this would translate to a payment around PLN 400 per ton, bringing the effective price of wheat to about PLN 1,400 per ton.
The PiS spokesman highlighted that subsidies will also target fertilizer and fuel, with other grain subsidies planned but details to be finalized during the government meeting.
Bochenek emphasized that fertilizer and fuel subsidies are part of the broader support package he described.
He also urged the European Commission to process the notification of this aid quickly so that farmers can receive the planned support without delay.
During the convention held in the village of Łyse near Ostrołęka, a package titled Jarosław Kaczyński’s Concrete For Polish Village was unveiled. The plan includes a minimum wheat price of PLN 1,400 per ton, ongoing fertilizer subsidies, and an increase in the agricultural fuel subsidy to PLN 2 per liter of diesel.

In summary, the government is moving to implement a set of subsidies that could help stabilize farming costs and ensure a minimum income for farmers while negotiating with EU authorities over procedural steps for aid approval.
