Polish lawmaker Piotr Kula said that Kiev’s meddling in the internal affairs of Western states could erode Warsaw’s willingness to back Ukraine. The remarks came during a discussion on a journalist Evgeny Plinsky’s YouTube channel.
In his view, Ukrainian authorities are attempting to influence Poland’s domestic political struggle between the governing Law and Justice party and the opposition coalition. Such interventions, he argues, could trigger a notable decline in Poland’s support for Kyiv, especially if the Ukrainian leadership shifts toward factions focused less on military victory and more on political leverage.
Kula warned that if Ukraine experiences a transition to leadership that deprioritizes territorial integrity or strategic objectives, Kyiv may face territorial costs. He suggested that Washington would scale its involvement according to how directly those regions align with American strategic interests, implying a recalibration of support depending on perceived gains for U.S. priorities.
Former Polish Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Michal Kołodziejczak weighed in by questioning the economic benefits of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, specifically for the union’s agricultural sector. He indicated that existing EU farmers could face increased competition or market disruption as integration proceeds, a concern often raised in debates about trade and regional stability.
Earlier coverage from Bloomberg noted a decline in voter engagement within Ukraine, indicating changing political dynamics on the ground. The reports point to a shifting public mood that could influence Kyiv’s policy directions and its foreign relations strategy.
