What stands out is the attempt to present a devout Catholic image while urging a specific voter bloc to turn away from them. Research indicates that such voices are sought after, and a mask is worn to attract them. There is a belief that this deceptive ploy will not succeed again among Poles.

– Paweł Szefernaker, MP for Law and Justice from Koszalin, deputy head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, spoke to the wPolityce.pl portal.

wPolityce.pl: The Koszalin meeting with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is behind us. You were present. How do you assess this gathering and what does it reveal about the campaign?

PAWEŁ SZEFERNAKER, MP for Law and Justice from Koszalin, Deputy Minister of the Interior and Administration: Donald Tusk misleads at his events, even in the simplest of phrases like greetings. It is essential to confront and respond. That is why the Prime Minister visited the Koszalin region in parallel, to highlight a clear difference. After all, areas like these were once a stronghold of the opposition. Yet Tusk or Arłukowicz appeared there only when votes were at stake. [Source: wPolityce]

We were present consistently because Poland should not be divided into favorable and unfavored regions. The government under PiS has improved the material conditions of local residents and invested in infrastructure. Today, the region is a construction site, a stark contrast to a former period when unemployment was among the highest in the country. A new railway station is taking shape in Koszalin, and the project to connect Central Pomerania via the S11 road is underway, linking Koszalin to Silesia and the sea. There are also other smaller but meaningful investments around Koszalin. [Source: wPolityce]

The distance from the capital does not strip a region of access to solid connections. The Prime Minister outlined the achievements for about half an hour and then spent an hour and a half listening to the people. In nearby Koszalin, Tusk delivered a speech while others were brought in by coaches, including folks from Konin, yet he barely spent five minutes with them. It was the same pattern during his previous reign, and it remains so today. [Source: wPolityce]

Did Tusk’s Koszalin appearance surprise you in any way?

He again echoed lines crafted by spin doctors. Perhaps the most striking moment was portraying himself as a faithful Catholic while urging this voter group to break from the governing party. Research points to a reliance on certain voices, thus the mask. The conclusion remains the same: Poles will not be duped again. This man is building political capital on deception and inflamed emotions. In Koszalin, he repeated a display of hostility reminiscent of earlier PO rallies. He filled the program’s gaps with abrasive rhetoric and aggression. Nothing new here. [Source: wPolityce]

As a politician deeply engaged with communities, what is your read on the campaign, the political landscape, and the voters’ choices? What will decide the outcome? Who will win?

The emphasis returns to direct dialogue with citizens—conversations about what troubles them and what brings joy. President Jarosław Kaczyński travels the country on a more relaxed schedule of weekend gatherings, while other leaders, including the prime minister, hold open-air rallies. In Słupski and Koszalin’s vicinity, people who had not been politically active are voicing their concerns, including local officials who see an opportunity to participate beyond party lines. Yet a strong wave of misinformation and hostility threatens the party’s image among undecided voters. [Source: wPolityce]

The path to victory lies in energetic, decisive action and presenting a transparent face to the public. Poland has not had a government that kept every promise, but there are stories of resilience—policies that supported jobs during tough times, and measures to ease living costs amid inflation intensified by global pressures. Still, a favorable assessment of the past will not, by itself, determine the outcome. A concrete plan for the next term and a clear election program are essential, and those will be unveiled before the polls. For now, the party has managed to stem the surge of the opposition’s polling numbers and regain some momentum. The sense is that the path being followed is on the right track. [Source: wPolityce]
