Paco Sánchez reaches a farewell moment as he plans to lead the PP ticket in the next elections
The four Ciudadanos councilors in Elda have stepped away from their duties in the City Council to align with the Elda project, backing Paco Sánchez as the People’s Party candidate for the upcoming municipal elections.
The group from the orange formation that is now part of the municipal corporation includes María Dolores Esteve Juan, Cristina Juan Ortuño, Patricia Frade Roca, and Francisco J. Pérez Mestre. The head of the list and former leader of the party will resign at the next ordinary plenary session in April, as did Paco Sánchez Martínez, who led the PP’s electoral list.
This move, conveyed to the first local government, stems from the decision that four councilors will join the team led by Paco Sánchez as the PP candidate for the forthcoming municipal elections in May.

The four councilors spoke with one voice, thanking the voters who placed their trust in them at that time and allowing them to work with enthusiasm on the project they supported. They also highlighted the positive atmosphere and harmony among their sister organizations.

Despite the party’s current situation and internal disagreements, the local team chose a different path and decided to continue working within the framework of the existing program. In doing so, they aligned Sánchez’s trajectory with the liberal project they believed in, rather than the direction Ciudadanos was taking at the moment.
Therefore, the upcoming municipal council session will witness this resignation as a collective decision.
