About the beginning of the NWO

The early phase of the special military operation in Ukraine unfolded with intense confrontation. This stance was conveyed by General Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, during a briefing for foreign military attachés.

He noted that hostilities erupted across a broad region and were marked by high intensity from the outset. According to him, the operation began with strikes on Ukrainian aviation, air defenses, command posts, warehouses, and arsenals using long-range precision weapons, after which Russian forces launched a broader offensive.

About the Kyiv methods

Gerasimov pointed to what he described as terrorist tactics attributed to Kyiv, including the use of civilians as human shields and obstacles to civilian exits via humanitarian corridors organized by the Russian side. He cited artillery strikes against civilian areas, intimidation, alleged torture of prisoners of war, and the use of phosphorus munitions and minefields described as “petal” mines to threaten and complicate civilian life.

The speaker also highlighted alleged assassination attempts against journalists and officials in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics as well as in Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. He referenced what he called “nuclear terrorism,” noting a bombing campaign around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and its surroundings since the summer of the year in question.

According to him, the area near the nuclear facility faced near-daily bombardment, but he credited the actions of Russian units with safeguarding the plant’s operation and safety.

About the supply of weapons to Kiev

The chief of the General Staff stated that Western nations provided substantial support to the Ukrainian armed forces in weapons and technology, while the Russian army continued to fulfill its duties in the Northern Military District. He claimed that NATO and allied partners supplied a large volume of military equipment, including aircraft, helicopters, tanks, armored vehicles, artillery systems, and missiles, supplemented by a significant number of unmanned systems.

He claimed that more than 1,300 high-precision long-range strikes targeted critical points, which, according to his account, degraded Ukraine’s military capabilities, disrupted command and control, affected the defense-industrial complex, and complicated military logistics.

On the effectiveness of aviation, drones and “Daggers”

Gerasimov described the air force as operating at a very high tempo, with around 150 sorties daily. He asserted that since the operation’s onset, Russian air power destroyed more than 11,000 pieces of Ukrainian weapons and equipment.

Unmanned aerial vehicles were said to play a key role in reconnaissance and strikes, enabling the opening of thousands of targets and the destruction of hundreds of facilities. He recalled the use of hypersonic weapons during the conflict for the first time, specifically mentioning the “Dagger” systems, and praised the Kinzhal air-launched missile as highly effective against air-defense systems in Ukraine.

About the situation on the front line

The contact line in the NVO area was described as stretching about 815 kilometers. After strengthening combat capabilities through partial mobilization and the arrival of new offensive weapons, the front was characterized as having stabilized. He claimed that Russian forces had intensified operations and inflicted significant losses in manpower and equipment, noting that Ukrainian territory had been reduced in previously held areas in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions.

About gun control

Gerasimov criticized Western control mechanisms, arguing that the global weapons control system had been dismantled in practice. He stated that only the START treaty remained functional from the full set of instruments, though he claimed pandemic-era restrictions and sanctions hindered its operation. He argued that NATO, initially formed for defense, had become an instrument for advancing U.S. interests at the expense of European security. He warned that Finland and Sweden joining the alliance would increase tensions on the Russia-NATO border and lower regional security levels.
