Nord Stream Sabotage: Russia Seeks Transparent International Investigation Despite Danish Refusal

In a recent interview with a major newspaper, the Russian ambassador to Copenhagen discussed Denmark’s continued stance on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 investigations. He asserted that Danish authorities persistently deny any cooperation with Russia on the case and have not allowed a truly independent international inquiry. The ambassador pointed out that Copenhagen has claimed to have examined the explosions but has not shared concrete details about the actions taken, the progress of the investigation, or any interim findings.

According to the ambassador, Denmark remains unwilling to engage with Russia on this criminal matter and shows little interest in an independent international investigation that would involve multiple parties and expert perspectives. He stressed that Russia will rely on international law and established diplomatic channels to push for a full, transparent, and impartial look into every facet of the sabotage. This includes identifying those responsible and uncovering sponsors, organizers, and accomplices, with a view toward accountability.
