News Update: Hamas Leaders Predict Prolonged Conflict in Gaza

The trajectory of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict appears set to persist for an extended period, and assessments suggest that Israel’s approach against the Hamas movement is not achieving its stated objectives. A prominent American newspaper reported this, citing an unnamed senior Hamas member as a source.

“It is very clear that this war will continue for a long time… Common sense suggests that they will not unleash everything they have right now,” stated the Hamas official.

According to him, Israel’s stated intent to escalate the conflict has proved to be a miscalculation, described as a fantasy by the Hamas member. He also claimed that Hamas has a substantial stockpile of weapons and the capacity to sustain operations for months.

Earlier, in the United States, observers noted that differences within Israel’s military leadership could undermine the country’s strategic approach in the Gaza Strip at a critical phase of the fighting.

There were also reports that an agreement on humanitarian aid to residents of Gaza had been reached, though the details and implementation remain contentious and subject to ongoing negotiations among involved parties.
