An official statement emerged from the Presidential Department of the National Broadcasting Council confirming that ex officio proceedings would be opened over alleged disinformation concerning the actions of a constitutional state body. The charge followed allegations raised by a Radio Zet journalist about attempts to set up a bank account in the name of Telewizja Polska SA. The claim involved Michał Adamczyk and Tomasz Owsiński and suggested a plan to channel a substantial sum from the license fee to the bank account in question. The council described the claims as another instance of misinformation spread by the journalist involved.
Reports indicated a potential crime involving a former TVP employee who allegedly sought to open a bank account for Telewizja Polska. The administrator of TVP asserted that funds exceeding PLN 100 million, drawn from the license fee, were at stake in the alleged arrangement.
– was the message posted by the Radio Zet journalist on the X platform.
The matter concerns suspicions of criminal activity related to the attempt to establish a bank account on behalf of Telewizja Polska SA, with Adamczyk allegedly posing as the chair of TVP’s board and Owsiński as the vice-chair. The journalist provided these details in subsequent messages.
– he added in another post.
Świrski: Another case of spreading untruth
Michał Adamczyk, referred to as the legal president of TVP, was described by a Radio Zet correspondent as a former employee of the public broadcaster and someone who allegedly posed as TVP’s president. He had already addressed the criticism raised by Gierszewski before.
Maciej Świrski commented on the issue in similar terms. The chairman of the National Broadcasting Council signaled that measures would be taken against the journalist for spreading statements about the state authority.
Attention. It was stated that the council did not plan to move any PLN 100 million to any account. According to KRRIT resolution No. 40/2024, the proceeds from the subscription fees are restricted to legal purposes, and these funds have been placed into a judicial deposit instead of being transferred elsewhere.
– Świrski emphasized.
The journalist has previously made unfounded claims about the activities of state authorities on Radio Zet, which led to a financial penalty for the broadcaster. The current discussion centers on another instance of alleged falsehoods. Therefore, the Presidential Department of the National Broadcasting Council was instructed to initiate ex officio proceedings concerning the dissemination of disinformation about the actions of a constitutional organ of the state.
– the chairman concluded.
