Overview of Chisinau Protest and Detentions
Moldovan authorities reported that over 70 individuals were detained in connection with a protest in the capital, Chisinau. The information comes from the national police and was relayed by TASS. The police noted that those detained disrupted public order, blocked roadways, and acted with aggression toward law enforcement officers. During the rally, authorities filed five crime reports and detained 77 people, including 24 minors. The Moldovan police highlighted that more than 2,000 people supported the demonstration. Organizers of the march asserted that force was used against elderly participants and raised concerns about violations. They described the actions of security forces during the protests as coercive.
