Mazón denies the renegades’ accusations and wishes Ciudadanos a happy journey to Sanchismo
End. This moment marks the end of the negotiations that aimed to renew the advisory bodies. The People’s Party left the door open for a possible agreement a week ago, and this morning the Cs trustee in the Valencia Courts, Mamen Peris, closed all avenues after the latest meeting. The leader of the party stated that Cs did everything possible to reach a compromise, even offering to step back from their candidates, but neither the PP nor Botànic showed willingness to seal a deal.
Peris characterized the situation as regrettable, noting that institutions are being used in ways that undermine dialogue. He argued that the PP and PSOE have historically leveraged judges, television channels, and the data protection agency for political ends, a practice he described as an election-calculus approach. Those who struggle to engage in constructive dialogue and to think beyond party interests to the general welfare of the Valencian Community were questioned regarding their suitability to lead the region, according to Ciudadanos’ candidate for the Generalitat.
Additionally, Mamen Peris announced that Cs would withdraw all their candidates from the ongoing negotiations, including the proposed candidate for the Valencia radio and television board. He stressed that the withdrawal was not about seats but about principles of dialogue and consensus. The party explained that they had taken the discussion seriously and pursued it until the last possible moment, hoping to find a path forward, even if that path diverged from Botànic or PP considerations.
