During a public presentation, a supporter of the movement’s collective, writer and historical researcher Gerardo Muñoz Javier Cabo, and signatories and interested parties read a manifesto at the UA venue in Alicante. The document outlines the values of the platform and the core commitments of its members.

In the letter, the group highlights an inheritance of claims prioritizing the most vulnerable populations and the right to a life of dignity. The platform emphasizes focus areas such as childhood, youth, LGBTQ+ communities, and disability. It notes that not all parties are prepared to integrate these values into their programs yet.

The document also identifies the current president of Consell and calls for greater and sustained investment in the Alicante region, citing initiatives like Digital Zone and the Vega Renhace Plan as examples of regional development efforts.

The platform argues that the manifesto reflects Ximo Puig’s political stance, stressing balance, decentralization, and the territorial structure within the Valencian Community.

Organizers, including Gerardo Muñoz, stressed that the platform supports the government of Ximo Puig but is not closed to new ideas — if necessary, it can evolve. Muñoz from Alicante described the group as preferring a progressive government and suggested there would be no changes before the elections on May 28.

The initiative aims to expand its reach across the Community, including Valencia and Castellón, with plans to travel the state in the coming weeks. Regional laws and sector-specific proposals will be announced; the group seeks open discussions and practical proposals to present to Puig, as Muñoz stated.

The first act took place in Vega Baja, the area where the platform has the most activity, with support from Elche, Orihuela, Benidorm, Alcoy, and Denia.

Among the signatories in Alicante province, a broad range of figures from social, cultural, political, educational, health, and economic sectors participated.

As of February 25, more than 60 signatories had joined the platform under the banner of Ximo Puigrupo. The list includes figures from academia, business, the arts, public health, and local government among others.
