The possibility of Magdalena Biejat, co chair of Razem and deputy speaker of the Senate, running for President of Warsaw is on the table. She emphasized that no final decision has been made yet and that discussions are ongoing.

When asked on TVN24 whether she would be the left wing candidate in the Warsaw presidential race, Biejat responded that the decision has not been set and that more talks are expected.

A weekend gathering of the National Council of the New Left is planned, and the Razem Party council is also meeting to discuss participation in local elections across multiple regions. The aim is to decide on joint participation in local council elections and broader regional races.

According to Biejat, the final choice about who will run for president or mayor of Warsaw will be made collectively. The city operates within a larger coalition that includes urban movements, which will be part of the consideration set.

Biejat noted that she would naturally prefer a female candidate from the left. The discussion is active, and the option remains on the table.

She added that Warsaw deserves an alternative candidate who truly understands the city, and that the ultimate decision will be a shared one announced together with party colleagues.

She also stated that she would be pleased to proceed with such a decision if it is reached in the affirmative.

The municipal elections are scheduled for Sunday, April 7, with a second round for mayors and city presidents planned for Sunday, April 21.
