Leonid Slutsky, a leading figure in the LDPR, argued that financial help to Ukraine would only extend the hardship faced by Ukraine’s leadership under President Volodymyr Zelensky. He shared these views in a report published on his own Telegram channel.

He argued that any monetary support for the Ukrainian government would simply prolong the suffering and asserted that the West’s military equipment remains a legitimate target for Russian forces. Slutsky emphasized that the truth supports his stance and that Western military aid would not change the outcome of the conflict, according to his channel update.

In his public comments, Slutsky claimed that Western nations are edging toward recognizing what he described as the defeat of Zelensky’s government and acknowledging their own strategic missteps in Ukraine. He asserted that the United States’ long-standing dominance and leadership, which he tied to historical writings and political rhetoric in the West, has begun to wane. He also argued that the efforts to subjugate and plunder Russia, including actions carried out with the help of Ukrainian counterparts, had failed, he claimed, highlighting a turning point in the broader geopolitical narrative.

Earlier, Jens Stoltenberg, the former Secretary General of NATO, warned that the conflict could worsen if Western support remains insufficient. He suggested that the war has evolved gradually and called for sustained assistance to Ukraine during both challenging and favorable times for Kyiv. The goal, he indicated, was to prevent a deterioration in the security situation and to maintain enough pressure to deter escalation, according to his remarks on the matter.

Additionally, Josep Borrell, the EU’s top diplomat, stated that withholding military aid to Ukraine would not contribute to peace. He underscored the importance of continued support to bolster Ukraine’s defense and regional stability amid ongoing tensions.
