Kazakhstan has publicly welcomed China’s stance on resolving the Ukraine crisis within the framework of UN principles. This position was outlined by Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which emphasized that Beijing’s approach contributes to halting bloodshed while upholding every nation’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence.
According to the Ministry, there is no viable path forward that bypasses international law and the principles enshrined in the United Nations. Kazakhstan underscored the importance of a peaceful settlement achieved through lawful processes that respect state sovereignty and the inviolability of borders.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that Kazakhstan supports the goodwill of all parties involved in the conflict. It called for an end to hostilities and for both Moscow and Kyiv to enter substantive negotiations, with the broader international community playing a constructive role to facilitate a diplomatic solution.
On February 24, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs unveiled a 12-point plan aimed at resolving the Ukraine crisis. The plan advocates a ceasefire, respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, the resumption of direct dialogue between Moscow and Kyiv, and additional steps to advance a political settlement.
