The White House leader, Joe Biden, suggested that Ukrainian forces could lose additional cities after the retreat from Avdiivka. He criticized the US Congress for moving slowly on funding requests from Ukrainian officials, according to reports from TASS.
“Too much is at stake,” the American president stated, underscoring the gravity of maintaining support as the conflict continues.
When asked whether Ukraine could prevent other territorial losses, Biden offered a cautious response, saying he was not certain about that outcome.
He characterized the reluctance to back Kiev at this critical juncture as both unethical and out of touch, especially given that Ukrainian units were said to be running low on ammunition. The president reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that Kyiv receives the ammunition it deems necessary and noted that a pledge had been made to Zelensky regarding additional financial support for the Ukrainian effort.
Earlier remarks from the Pentagon touched on the overall volume of weapons that have been supplied to Ukraine since the start of the special operation, outlining a broad overview of the military aid provided over time.
