Italy will host an international conference focused on Ukraine’s reconstruction in Rome on July 10–11, 2025. The announcement followed discussions in Rome between Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, with Reuters noting the timing and scope of the event.
Meloni framed the conference as a milestone toward peace and enduring prosperity, anchored in reconstruction. She confirmed the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference would be held in Rome on those dates and stressed that Italy will support Ukraine for as long as needed. She also underscored the importance of drawing in international partners who can persuade Moscow to join negotiations, signaling a comprehensive effort that blends humanitarian aid, rebuilding funds, and diplomatic pressure.
Zelensky described to Italian officials the details of Ukraine’s peace plan, a proposal he has also discussed with leaders in France and the United Kingdom. He presented the plan as a practical framework for ending the conflict and setting Ukraine on a path to resilience and long-term reconstruction, emphasizing that success hinges on broad international involvement and unity among allies.
Public accounts indicate that Zelensky’s diplomacy extended beyond Italy, with meetings in the United Kingdom and France and discussions with the leaders of those nations and other partners, as well as with NATO’s Secretary General, all aimed at aligning support for Ukraine’s recovery and security guarantees.

Earlier, Zelensky arrived in London to discuss the peace plan and then travelled on to meet other European leaders, continuing a pattern of high-profile diplomacy aimed at sustaining momentum toward a resolution.
